One licence, plain words
The short version: one developer, unlimited end products for you or your clients, and you may not resell the theme itself. The full text below is the contract.
The text below is the Aloha Pixel commercial licence, version 1.3. It is written in English, the language of the contract, and it is the version that governs the sale. It covers the five paid themes, Aloha, Swell, Koa, Kai and Nalu. Each archive ships this same agreement, with one addition: section 5 names that theme's own demonstration brand. Reef is not covered by it: Reef is free and open source, published under the MIT licence in a public repository, and may be redistributed, modified and republished on the terms of that licence.
LICENSE - commercial license for the five paid Aloha Pixel themes: one license per developer, unlimited end products, no redistribution as a theme. Reef is not covered here: it is free and MIT, see section 0.
ALOHA PIXEL THEME LICENSE AGREEMENT
Version 1.3, August 2026
Copyright (c) 2026 Aloha Pixel. All rights reserved.
This agreement is between Aloha Pixel, the trading name of Justin Deboves,
sole trader ("we", "us") and you, the person or company that purchased a
license for one of our paid themes (the "Theme"). By downloading, installing
or using the Theme you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not
use the Theme.
0. WHICH THEMES THIS COVERS, AND WHICH IT DOES NOT
This agreement governs the five paid themes we publish: Aloha, Swell, Koa, Kai
and Nalu. "The Theme" means the theme your purchase covers. If you bought the
All-Access Pass, it means each of those five, and any paid theme we later add
to the family: every clause below then applies to each of them separately, and
the limits are per theme, not shared between them.
Reef is NOT covered by this agreement. Reef is free and open source: it is
published under the MIT license, in a public repository, and you may use,
redistribute, modify and republish it on the terms of that license, which
travels with its source. Nothing written below restricts what MIT allows on
Reef. The All-Access Pass includes Reef for convenience, not to bring it under
these terms.
Nothing in this agreement removes or reduces the statutory rights a consumer
has under the law of their country of residence, in particular the French
legal guarantee of conformity for digital content (articles L224-25-12 and
following of the consumer code) and the guarantee against hidden defects
(articles 1641 and following of the civil code). Where a clause below and
those rights disagree, those rights prevail. The terms of sale on
alohapixel.app/cgv set them out in full.
1. WHAT THE THEME IS
The Theme is the source code, styles, components, scripts, documentation and
demo content distributed under its name. Fonts and other third-party
components bundled with the Theme are listed in THIRD-PARTY.md and remain
governed by their own licenses; this agreement covers everything else.
2. WHAT YOU MAY DO
Subject to this agreement, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable,
worldwide, perpetual license to:
a. Use the Theme to build an unlimited number of end products, for yourself,
your company or your clients. An "end product" is a website or web
application whose purpose is its own content or service, not the Theme
itself: a SaaS marketing site, a product site, a company site, a client
project.
b. Modify the Theme without limit: rebrand it, restructure it, delete from it,
extend it. Modified code stays subject to this agreement.
c. Deploy end products commercially or non-commercially, on any number of
domains, with no attribution required.
d. Keep the Theme source in the private repositories of the end products that
use it, accessible to the people working on those products.
3. ONE LICENSE PER DEVELOPER
Each license covers one developer: one person who edits the Theme source.
A team of three people editing the source needs three licenses. People who
only view the deployed end product, write content in it, or review work
without editing the Theme source do not need a license. A license is tied to
a person, not a machine: your licensed developer may work on any number of
computers.
4. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO
a. Redistribute the Theme as a theme. You may not resell, sublicense, share,
publish or give away the Theme, in whole or in substantial part, as a
theme, template, starter, boilerplate, UI kit, component library or
similar developer-facing product, whether free or paid, modified or not.
This is the one thing this license protects.
b. Publish the Theme source in a public repository or any location where
people without a license can obtain it. Open sourcing an end product that
embeds the Theme requires removing the Theme or contacting us for a
written exception.
c. Extract components, styles or documentation from the Theme to build a
competing developer-facing product.
d. Transfer or resell your license, except that a company may reassign a
seat from a developer who leaves to the developer who replaces them.
e. Use the Theme in an end product whose primary value is the Theme itself,
such as a site generator that outputs sites based on our themes for third
parties without each recipient holding a license.
This section applies to the five paid themes only. Reef, published under MIT,
may be redistributed and republished freely, including in a public repository.
5. DEMO CONTENT
The demo copy, the fictional products, companies, customers, authors and
testimonials shipped with the Theme are part of it and are provided for
demonstration. Replace them in production; do not present fictional
testimonials or ratings as real.
6. UPDATES AND SUPPORT
Your purchase includes access to updates of the major version you bought.
Support, when offered, is provided on a reasonable-effort basis and is not a
guaranteed service level. We may release new major versions under separate
terms.
7. NO WARRANTY
Subject to the statutory rights preserved in section 0, and to the maximum
extent permitted by the law that applies to you, the Theme is provided "as
is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not
limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose
and non-infringement. You are responsible for testing the Theme for your use
case before deploying it; every theme has a live demo you can browse before
buying. We do not warrant that the Theme is error free or that it will meet
your requirements.
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Subject to the statutory rights preserved in section 0, and to the maximum
extent permitted by law, Aloha Pixel shall not be liable for any indirect,
incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages arising from the use
of or inability to use the Theme. Our total aggregate liability under this
agreement shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license.
9. TERMINATION
This license terminates automatically if you materially breach it, in
particular section 4. It also ends if we refund your purchase, whether under
the statutory rules or under our own fourteen day refund policy. Upon
termination you must stop distributing the Theme and destroy your copies of
the source; end products already deployed before the termination may remain
deployed. Sections 7, 8 and 10 survive termination. Termination has no effect
on Reef, which you hold under MIT and not under this agreement.
10. GENERAL
This agreement is the entire agreement between us regarding the Theme. If a
provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Failure to
enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not use our names,
trademarks or logos except to state, factually, that your product was built
with the Theme.
This agreement is governed by French law, without depriving a consumer of the
mandatory protections of their country of residence.

Refund policy
14 days, no questions asked. Reply to your purchase email within 14 days of buying and you get a full refund, even if you already downloaded the theme. You will receive a proper invoice for your accounting in every case.
